Any breastfeeding mum will have come across this struggle at some point in their nursing life. You wake up to do the night feed and your pjs annoy your baba by flapping in their face and they get further annoyed by you taking so long fumbling around in the dark to lift your pjs up. You are then sat up half naked for the good part of an hour, or you fall asleep nursing and spend the rest of the night freezing with half your top up and half down.
Well ladies, I have discovered something which will revolutionise nighttime nursing for you.. the breastfeeding sleepshirt by Daisypops.
The sleepshirt has sleeves to keep your shoulders warm (one of the reasons I hate wearing vests to bed is I spend most of the night with my shoulders out of the duvet..), and a simple split across the front of the top so you can pop your baby on your chest and feed away without having to fumble around in the dark and without freezing to death.
It’s also great for loungewear when your in the house (especially in the postpartum early days) but want to be in something comfy that is still practical to feed in. In fact I love mine so much I have been using it out of the house as it’s just so easy to feed in! It has been a godsend when leaving the house in this mini heatwave!
The material is lovely and soft and it comes in 7 lovely colours and the lovely people at daisypops now ship to the UK! I was super impressed that my top arrived in less than a week. The shirt costs approx £27 and is worth every penny as even though it’s summer here in the U.K. the weather cannot make its mind up so some nights are freezing and some nights boiling hot and I hate being cold at night.
The pro’s for me are fuss free feeding, no more cold shoulders at night, and super discrete feeding if you wear it out the house. I’m not usually a fan of nursing clothes as they don’t usually look good, but this sleepshirt has been really well made with lovely quality cotton and I felt great wearing it and it’s going to come in handy so much during winter night feeds.

Okay okay, so I posted about this a few weeks back and after a couple of days of eating well and losing a couple of pounds over a couple of weeks, I gave up and my diet has become out of control.
There’s a couple of reasons for this.. Firstly, breastfeeding makes me super super hungry ALL of the time. I must consume so much in a day. And secondly, I am so so busy with the boys that I just grab convieniant snacks all day as I don’t get to sit down to eat a meal until dinner. (I still have three meals they are just rushed and whilst hovering over my toddlers highchair when he has his meals). The result is I don’t just grab any snack, I go for complete and utter junk as I just need energy. I’m actually feeling sick thinking about the amount of crisps, cake, chocolate and biscuits I eat daily!
I’m starting to feel really lethargic and not great in myself, which certainly is made worse by the lack of sleep I am getting. And, all of this junk is not good for my breastfed baby. so this time I really mean it when I say I am going to start a healthier diet.. and hope to lose some weight in the process although I won’t be calorie counting or starving myself, as after all I am breastfeeding.
So to motivate me (seeing as my weekly outfit posts have motivated me to get out of my leggings and t shirts).. I am going to update you all with some healthy meals I am eating and my postpartum weight loss journey.
The plan is to…
Cut out toast for breakfast and switch to porridge
Limit myself to one cup of tea a day
Create simple and quick lunches that involve very little cooking (I get around 20 minutes when both boys are napping in the day)
Cut out the crisps, chocolate, cakes, fizzy drinks!
Stick to my normal home cooked dinner
So day one this is what I had for lunch.. there was no cooking involved, unless you count boiling an egg.. but my toddler was at nursery so I had the time to think and make this..
My ‘snack pack lunch’ consisted of:
2 hard boil eggs
30g of mature cheese
A teaspoon of peanut butter
In total this came to 400 calories and had 22.8g of Fat, 23.8g of carbs and 22.2g of protein… As I said, I am not calorie counting but I’ve included this for anyone who is interested.
Let’s hope tommorrow when I’m home alone with both babies I still manage to keep this up! Wish me luck!
So this weekend we have faced a new dilemma.. what to wear during a heatwave that is breastfeeding friendly and minimises two sweaty bodies making each other even more sweaty 😂😂.
I will save you all from witnessing what I’ve been wearing this past weekend, so here is an outfit from earlier on in the week, before the heatwave kicked in.
A light cotton t-shirt from Zara, with some New look jeggings, with some comfy sandals from Asos 😍.
All of the summer clothes sales have started but I am trying my very best to avoid looking online as it really is time I did something about my baby weight! From tomorrow I am actually starting a healthy eating plan! Wish me luck..
So this week we had yet another wedding meaning another ‘formal’ feeding friendly outfit to find. As I didn’t have time to get to the shops, I had massss of online deliveries arrive all week, and finally caught a moment when both babies were napping to try it ALL on and settled for this lovely outfit..

As the weather has been so unpredictable and cold lately I’ve had to dig out clothes from my autumn/winter wardrobe. Summer hurry up please.
This black jumpsuit from Asos (from the Asos White collection) is perfect for this weather and really really easy to feed in as it has a zip down front. I wore a tshirt underneath for OUOD (one up one down) for even more discrete feeding. Oh and I’m still loving my current favourite mum shoes, my leather converses 😍.
Okay so I’ve been saying for some weeks now that the healthy eating has started, BUT after weighing myself last week and realising I have put on 4 POUNDS after losing the initial baby weight, this time I’m really really going to try.
I only put on a stone with this pregnancy but I still had a stone to lose from pregnancy number one when I fell pregnant, so in total I am just over a stone larger than I’m used to. Breastfeeding makes me super super hungry and lack of time and preparation leaves me reaching for sugary snacks. I have consumed probably a dozen packs of digestive biscuits in the last 12 weeks, it’s actually embarrassing! I’m going to be realistic and hope to lose up to half a stone, as I know my appetite is crazy as a breastfeeding mum.
We have so many summer weddings and events that I really do want to do something about it now. So I am writing this post with the aim that it will motivate me to stick to it and update any progress. So, as I write this I am 9 stone 7 pounds.. wish me luck!
Soo last week I slipped up and didn’t do an outfit post.. blame the two mini men in my life, so hard to catch a break and even harder to get anybody to take a photo for you when you spend the majority of your time with two little people!
But this week I’m back on it.. here is my favourite breastfeeding friendly outfit of the week.. an oversized cropped sweater from Zara, paired with some high wasted jeans by Monki. I’m officially a mum now I’m in high waisted jeans.. they do a great thing by sucking EVERYTHING in, but I’m still not used to the new wider looking me 😂.
By wearing a vest top underneath the crop it was so easy to feed in and so discreet. Wish I had known about this easy way to feed with baby number one! Oh well, you live and you learn. Have a lovely weekend people, let’s keep our fingers crossed for more sun!
